Verde Valley Aviation Impact Relief VVAIR
🚨 Recap – Cottonwood City Council Meeting (12/16/25)
The Cottonwood Council voted to maintain the current Airport Commission structure: 4 members who are tenants, lessees, or individuals with “working knowledge” of airport matters. 1 non-user but must live in Cottonwood
There was no discussion about expanding representation to residents affected by Airport Commission recommendations. Council repeatedly used the term “subject matter experts” but did not define what qualifications that includes or how it is evaluated. The Airport Manager stated that three seats will be open on the Commission. Once the posting is released, anyone who meets the stated qualifications can apply. Council also approved the avigation easement item on the consent agenda, meaning the City Manager now has authority to approve avigation easements without bringing them back to Council or the Mayor.
We are a community of residents, homeowners, and business owners who are adversely impacted by recent developments at Cottonwood Airport.
The substantial rise in repetitive flight training operations, along with the administrative changes made by the airport over the last two years, has broadened the areas impacted, and, significantly diminished the quality of life for many in our community.

VVAir is not anti-airport. Rather, we are a fact-based, goal-oriented group working towards constructive, realistic solutions for Verde Valley residents.
